Eurostar has seen a large number of visitors wanting to travel to the 2024 Olympic Games and Paralympics in Paris and reports that it has already sold 415,000 tickets for travel to the event.
The company operates high-speed trains between Britain and Europe, and is the official travel provider for over 2,000 Olympic and Paralympic athletes from four teams: Team GB, Team Belgium, Team Netherlands and Team Germany.
Two million visitors are expected to travel to the games to be held between July and September.
To accommodate thousands of extra people wanting to travel to them, Eurostar is putting on extra services with up to eight more services operating from London to Paris on peak Olympic days compared to the current timetable.
To support travellers passing through its stations, extra staff will be available, and many Eurostar staff have volunteered to take on a ‘Games Maker' style role for travellers heading to Paris.
This year's Olympics aims to be the greenest ever held. Eurostar is supporting that aim by providing sustainable transport for competitors and committing to reducing the carbon footprint of the games.
As a prelude to the Games, two Team GB athletes were invited to visit St Pancras International to talk about their ambitions.
Adam Burgess came fourth at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, has qualified for this year's Olympics, and is Great Britain's first-ever canoe slalom U23 World Champion.
He talked about his ambition along with Team GB Breaker B-Boy Kid Karam, who will be the first to represent Team GB in Break Dancing along with his teammate B-Boy Sunni.
This is the first time that BreakDancing has been included as an Olympic sport, with competitors mostly training alone.
We're breaking into the Olympics, quite literally. The sport is something the world hasn't seen before, it's a sport without equipment or coaches which means the onus is entirely on you as an athlete.
