Rugby clubs in running for equipment thanks to Northern competition

Train operator Northern is running a competition for amateur rugby league clubs with valuable prizes including training equipment, match kit, and Betfred Super League tickets worth a total of £10,000.

Northern, who are an official partner of the league, launched the competition earlier this month to coincide with the start of the 2024 season.

Entries to the competition are invited from amateur clubs, including senior sides, community clubs, school teams, and youth groups.

Competition entries should include a 30-second video featuring a player or coach explaining why they love the game, and footage of their best try or slickest training ground move.

A panel of judges will select the winners, with the overall winner receiving a full match kit for 30 players, training equipment, and tickets to Super League games.

Magic Weekend tickets

Five other clubs will also be presented with training equipment and tickets for Magic Weekend, when an entire round of Super League fixtures will be played in August at Elland Road in Leeds, and the Grand Final in October at Old Trafford in Manchester.

The judges will also decide on the winner of a special submission which will earn the winning club 30 tickets to both the Magic Weekend and the Grand Final.

The closing date for entries to the competition is Friday, 5 April and the winners will be announced one week later on Friday, 12 April.
