LMS Jubilee No. 45690 Leander is set to visit the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway this March before it is withdrawn from service in the Summer.

Leander is owned by the Beet family, which also owns Ivatt Mogul No. 46441 and the visit will see the first time that a Jubilee locomotive has visited the railway since the 1960s.

It is planned that the locomotive will arrive at the railway, which runs from Haverthwaite to the interchange with the Windermere Ferry at Lakeside, on the 19th March straight after the East Lancashire Railway's gala.

Test runs and checks will be completed on the 20th and 21st March and Leander should be hauling service trains on the 23rd and 24th March 2024.

Details of steaming of Ivatt 46441, which is returning from overhaul, have not been confirmed yet.
