Back in August 2018, The and Railway Trust kindly donated a Wickham advertising leaflet which features No. 66/2 – Rail Motor Gang Trolley Types 27 Mk. IV and 27A Mk. IV, for to place in its archives.

The donation of the leaflet saw the two organisations come together, with the RTT discovering that these vehicles were in fact on the S&DRT site at its site.

This discovery saw the two organisations work together to learn the history behind the trolleys and why they were at the site, sadly this investigation saw little progress.

The Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust are currently in the process of leaving the Washford site and so The Rail Trolley Trust asked what the future was for the vehicles which led to the kind donation of the trolleys.

The three trolleys are four-wheeled unpowered flat trailers with steel frames one of which has ‘SDJR No. T1' painted on the frames. The trolleys also appear to have wheels and axles which could originate from Wickham.

The Rail Trolley Trust are delighted with the donation and wishes to thank the Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust for their extremely generous donation. The trolleys will be featured at the TRTT's Shropshire Collection at the .

2023 saw the RTT continue its work in generating funding with the aim of achieving £10,000. It is hoped that this wonderful donation which will see the Trolleys saved for future generations to enjoy will inspire people to support the trust and its work.

Funding is vital for the RTT as it enables the movement of more of the collection to secure locations and improved storage for its historic vehicles and of course, supporting a number of projects.
