East London Train Assault: Police appeal for help in identifying man

(BTP) are appealing for help in identifying a man who may have information about an assault at Underground station in East London.

Officers investigating the assault have released this image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

The assault happened at about 1.30 pm on Tuesday, 19 December. The victim was going out of Barking underground station when he saw a man exit through the ticket gates followed closely behind by another individual without paying.

The man then confronted by the victim, spitting at him and striking him in the face, causing the victim to lose some of his teeth.

Officers investigating the incident believe the man in the CCTV image may have information that could them with their enquiries.

If anyone recognises the man in the CCTV image, British Transport Police would like them to make contact by text on 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 674 of 19/12/2024.
