The Transformation team from the alliance consisting of , and AECOM, which is known as the South Rail Systems Alliance (SRSA), has recently spent two days volunteering at the Industries (RBLI) workshop at Aylesford in Kent.

The South Rail Systems Alliance was created to deliver a programme of works across the southern region of the UK over 10 years. At the Royal British Legion Industries workshop, the alliance's Transformation team worked alongside the workshop's team of armed forces veterans and colleagues with disabilities.

During their two days of volunteering the group helped to pack several products including traditional and solar-powered Tommy Commemorative Military Figures and commemorative wooden Union Jack wall art.

The Tommy Commemorative Military Figures are made from Perspex with an Acrylic base that when placed in sunlight creates a beautiful shadow that casts an outline of a British army “Tommy”. The Royal British Legion Industries sell the Tommy Remembrance products through its official RBLI merchandise page, with proceeds from sales going towards the RBLI's mission of supporting veterans and those with disabilities, which may be by providing housing for homeless veterans, or helping ex-forces personnel to return to civilian employment.

Speaking about the volunteering days, SRSA's Head of Transformation, Nick Matthews, said “It was a privilege to work alongside Britain's Bravest Manufacturing Company and its staff.

“The team made us all very welcome and a very enjoyable, but more importantly rewarding time was had by all.”

RBLI Senior Community Corporate Fundraising Manager, Selena Goldsmith, said “a huge, huge thank you to all of you for giving up some of your time and volunteering in our Britain's Bravest Manufacturing Company.

“We're absolutely delighted with your help and support, the team were highly productive and made a significant impact.”
