A small two-seater Wickham trolley has returned to its home at the Vale of Berkeley Railway after several months at the Somerset and Dorset Railway at Midsomer Norton.
Whilst the trolley was at Midsomer Norton, the Somerset and Dorset Railway held a Wickham Weekender in July when visitors could experience a ride in the trolley.
As the trolley can only accommodate one passenger alongside the driver, the railway also offered trolley rides on Wednesdays during August and September.
The trolley' carries number 156W and was built in 1948 by D. Wickham & Co, at Ware in Hertfordshire.
Its visit to the Somerset and Dorset Railway at Midsomer Norton was thanks to its owner Peter Nicholson and the Vale of Berkeley Railway where it is normally based, and was the first time it had run on a track journey of any length since its restoration a few years ago.
Next year, the Somerset and Dorset Railway at Midsomer Norton is planning to hold another Wickham Weekender event when it is hoped that 156W will once more be in attendance, alongside other visiting Wickham trolleys and the railway's own resident B40W machine.
