Tramway Village often has to deal with lost property, but for the first time, the property in question was lost dog Loki, the 7-year-old Jack Russell cross Bichon Frisé.

The lovely Loki was discovered without a collar or lead at the end of Glory Mine tram line, by a tram crew.

Conductor Paul Hobson made quick use of his tie in order to secure Loki before returning to the Tramway Village onboard the tram.

Work quickly got underway to find the dog's owners, including posting on social media and seeing if the local vet could scan the dog to find his owners.

Whilst all the bustle of trying to find Loki's owner, the little dog paid a visit to Rita's Tearooms, where he was treated to some tasty beef and was well and truly pampered with plenty of fuss from the team.

Whilst Loki was being looked after by the team at the Crich Tramway Village, Martin Gration and Sophie Cuthbertson, Loki's owners, along with Sophie's parents Susan and Andrew, were frantically trying to find the missing dog.

Recently, Martin has become the new warden of The Regimental Memorial in Crich and Sophie runs a tearoom in the village, just a short walk from the Glory Mine tram stop. During the search, Andrew decided to check out the Tramway Village and was thrilled to discover Loki, who was delighted to be reunited with his family once again.

Martin said:

“Loki is new to his surroundings and has become an expert at escaping and exploring.”

Sophie said:

“We were all trying to find him, so we were grateful to Crich Tramway Village staff and volunteers for looking after him during his absence. When we take him for a walk, he keeps pulling towards Crich Tramway Village, so he obviously enjoyed his time there and wants to return.”

Following his Tramway Village escapade, Loki now wears his harness, which has his contact information attached in case of any future adventuring.
