Electric bus service links Glasgow’s three main transport hubs

A zero-emission electric bus service has been introduced by , in partnership with First Bus to connect 's three major transport hubs: and , stations and Buchanan Bus station.

The buses are branded in ScotRail's iconic blue livery with a Saltire logo and started operations on Sunday, 1 October. By replacing the existing diesel vehicles, the new electric buses will remove 50,000 kilometres of diesel vehicle use from Glasgow city centre.

The bus link service provides a vital link for people making journeys between Glasgow's transport hubs, with tens of thousands of journeys made on the bus link service every year.

Introducing electric vehicles on the Glasgow station bus link will support ScotRail's efforts and the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council's targets towards achieving net zero. Since 2019/20, impressive strides made by ScotRail towards decarbonisation have seen it achieve a 12 per cent reduction in carbon emissions (CO2e).

David Lister, ScotRail Safety, Engineering & Sustainability Director, said: “ScotRail is proud to lead the charge in providing greener and more sustainable transport options.
