Armstrong Powerhouse has released its newest add on for Train Simulator Classic.
The popular developer had previously had a Class 142 pack but has come out with the v2 of the pack, with more features, liveries and sounds.
18 liveries are featured in the pack, with both older liveries and more recent ones featuring up to their withdrawal from mainline service.
A number of engine / gearbox configurations are available as well as the usual wheelslide protection and wheelslip simulation.
A new feature is the internal ride quality, dubbed ‘Bounce Factor' – Pacer trains were known for their bouncing along the rails, and now you can recreate this in Train Simulator Classic.
Also available with the pack is 6 scenarios for the DTG Huddersfield Line (Manchester – Leeds) and DTG North Wales Coast Line: Crewe to Holyhead.

The new pack costs £29.99 (plus any requirements for the scenarios to enable them to play as intended), and more information can be found on the Armstrong Powerhouse website.
Right here is the problem with train simulator classic. Here you have a train. It’s a great train with loads of features. It comes with scenarios where you can experience the train in its heyday or what ever.
But wait. To get it working properly, you need countless dlc /third party mods.
For this example you need 18 Armstrong power house mods, And they all appear to be at least 14.99. You also need a number of other 3rd part mods and they are not cheap either. FURTHERMORE, you need lots of official dlc from the steam store. All in you would be at 100s of £ just to get this train to function in the way it’s intended. While I’ve not checked with this one, often the 3rd party mods need other 3rd party mods to get them to work. Pushing you further into the rabbit warren. (Metaphoricaly, it’s well beyond a rabbit whole. Train sim classic is a rabbit warren, with hundreds of holes)
Yes, you can use QD with this train, or add it to a scenario of your own but that’s not my point.
Train sim classic is a mess. It’s like the biggest mess of any game I’ve ever seen. It’s ridiculously impractical. This particular engine is the worst I have ever seen but non of them are great.
Train sim classic is at best badly designed and at worst a complete con.
Frankly both Dove tail Games and these 3rd part Devs are just as much to blame as one another.
