ScotRail’s trial off-peak fares are now live on ticketing systems ahead of the trial starting this October

Customers wishing to check out or book the rail operator's trial off-peak fares can now do so ahead of the trial starting on Monday 2nd of October

is undertaking a six-month trial which will simply fares and make tickets cheaper for many of the rail operator's services.

The trial gets underway on Monday the 2nd of October with customers now able to take a look or even book the trial off-peak fares as they are now live on systems and can be accessed via vending machines, website, mobile app or at the ticket office.

The exciting project marks the first of its kind in the UK and is funded by the Scottish Government and comes as a bid to encourage rail travel over using a car.

The trial fares will support passengers travelling throughout the day using off-peak fares from the 2nd of October through to the end of March 2024.

Customers should note that routes with no current off-peak fares will remain the same price during the trial.

Alex Hynes, 's Railway Managing Director, said:
