Over the summer, Winchcombe Station was treated to a special volunteer day collaboration, which saw a team made up of 30 people from Colas Rail UK's Signalling team, Network Rail and the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway work together.
The collaboration saw the creation of a fantastic play area with tables and chairs for the local children and community to make use of while visiting the station.
The project took a sustainable approach to building the play area, using wooden sleepers from previous worksites, recycling and repurposing them, bringing a new lease of life.
Colas Rail UK‘s Signalling team is currently completing extensive work in the area, supporting Network Rail's Signalling & Telecoms framework.
