BTP release image following Winson Green tram attack

Members of the public are being asked to assist in an investigation into an assault on board a tram at .

have released an image of a man they believe could help with their inquiries.  The assault took place at the Winson Green stop at around 16.30 on Thursday 10 August. The tram had left and was travelling towards city centre.

During an on-board ticket check, the conductor advised a passenger that he would need to purchase a new ticket as he had produced an invalid one. Following his refusal to purchase a new ticket the man was asked to leave at the next stop.  He proceeded to spit at the conductor and then left the tram stop.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 2300093726.  They may also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
