Appeal for witnesses to threatening behaviour incident at Edinburgh

Officers are appealing for witnesses to an incident of threatening and abusive behaviour at Waverley railway station.

Last Saturday (9 September), a man on board the to Edinburgh Cross Country service missed his stop and began to behave in a threatening and abusive way to staff and to a member of the public. The full journey takes around eight hours, and the incident took place between 7.30pm and 8pm.

Police met the train at Edinburgh Waverley station and spoke with the man, but he then ran off across the tracks. The officers caught up with him, but he resisted arrest and was taken into custody.
