Transport for Wales launches new tourism campaign by train

A partnership between (TfW) and Visit Wales have launched a new “Don't let the car drive your day” campaign that encourages travellers to use the train to visit some of Wales' best places and extend their tourism season into the autumn.

In the new campaign, the focus is on four stunning locations that span the country: , , and .

All places can be easily reached on Transport for Wales' services, and with offers that include a saving of 50% on Advance train tickets, kids go free, and 2-4-1 entry to Cadw sites across Wales, they provide excellent value for money.

Aberystwyth is a picturesque market town on the coast of Ceredigion. It's a perfect getaways, and has the oldest pier in Wales. A camera obscura at the top of Constitution Hill provides breath-taking views of the promenade and coastline.

Conwy is a small tow with much to do. It is famous for its ancient castle and stunning scenery, but also has the smallest house in Britain, as well as the fantastic Bodnant Gardens.

The seaside town of Tenby lies within Carmarthen Bay.in Pembrokeshire. It has 3 miles of sandy beaches, 13th-century medieval town walls including a barbican gatehouse, Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, a 15th-century St. Mary's Church, a Tudor Merchant's House, and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is right on its doorstep,

Chepstow has the best of ancient and modern, with a Norman castle priominent on a stunniong location overlooking the River Wye.

Welcoming the new partnership, Deputy Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism Dawn Bowden said: “Visiting Wales by train is a great way to travel to some of our most iconic holiday destinations and with the “kids travel free” offer, it's an affordable option for families who want to make the most of the last few weeks remaining of the summer holidays, plan an autumn break, or stay longer to enjoy some fantastic fun and adventure.

“I'm delighted that Visit Wales is teaming up with Transport for Wales to showcase what Wales has to offer.”
