Special events at Mid-Suffolk Light Railway each Sunday in July

The Mid- Light Railway (the ‘Middy') has announced that on most Sundays during July it will be running steam trains with travel in genuine Victorian four-wheel coaches, and putting on extra attractions for visitors that include displays of classic and vintage vehicles and a model railway exhibition.

This Sunday. 2nd July, is a Steam Railway & Land Rover Owners Day, when 0-6-0ST Wissington will be in steam, and there will be many examples of Land Rover, including some very unusual varieties of the basic framework.

On 9th July is Steam Railway Day, when visitors can enjoy as many journeys on the trains as many times as they like.

All parts of the railway will be open, including the museum, shop, café, and real ale bar, and visits to the Restoration Shed will be available.

16th July brings the Steam Railway & BMW Motor Cycle Clubs Day which will attract anyone interested in motorcycles and takes place during the centenary of the first ‘Boxer' used in BMW motorcycles.

23rd July is Norfolk & Suffolk Narrow Gauge Modellers Day when narrow gauge modellers take over the indoor display areas showing off their many varieties of railway modelling.

At the end of the month, 30th July is Steam Railway and ‘MogFriends' sports car club day when there will be a visit by the ‘MogFriends' sports car enthusiasts with a passion for Morgan sports cars, with many examples on display in the station forecourt.

On each opening day, visitors can enjoy as many journeys as they like, and all facilities will be open, including the museum, shop, café, real ale bar, and the Restoration Shed. will be available.

Opening times of the railway are from 10.30 to 16.30, with tickets for all train rides and facilities costing £12.00 for adults, £6.00 for children under 16, families (2 + 2) £30.00, and concessions (over 65) £10.00.
