To make the countdown to this year's specials even better, the railway called upon the local sculptors, Sand in your Eye, to create a striking sand sculpture of Father Christmas next to a steam train on the beach at Whitby.

The Santa Specials give families the chance to come away with some enchanting memories after travelling from either or stations while they enjoy an enchanting Christmas experience meeting Santa Claus and his jolly helpers as they pass through the heritage carriages.
