Staff members from Hull Trains will play a key role in the vibrant, multi-hued festivities at this year's Pride in Hull, scheduled for Saturday, 29th July. This year marks the third time the rail operator has sponsored the event, with its distinct heart emblem featured prominently on the main stage and the attire of Pride's volunteer crew.
This year, Pride in Hull, which is Yorkshire's largest cost-free pride event, will take on an ‘access all areas approach, scattering its colourful displays throughout the city of Hull due to the temporary shutdown of its usual venue, Queens Gardens.
Participants, including performers and crew members, will be travelling to Hull Paragon Station, just a stone's throw away from Humber Street, the starting point of the Pride parade, courtesy of Hull Trains. The procession will kick off at noon and wind towards the main stage at Zebedees Yard, featuring a lineup of acts headlined by the legendary disco band Boney M, until 6 pm on Saturday, 29th July.
A plethora of stalls, eateries, and stages will spring up throughout the city as part of the Pride takeover, with events earmarked for King Edward Street, Princes Quay, Princes Dock Street, and Saville Street. This year, an Autistic Pride will also take place in the serene surroundings of the Hull Truck Theatre, ensuring everyone can partake in the jubilant celebrations.
Over the years, the popularity of this free event has surged, drawing in tens of thousands of individuals to Hull to rejoice in a spirit of love, diversity, and inclusivity.
