Claire, who organised and took part in the walk, said:

“I think we were all feeling a bit apprehensive ahead of the walk, we were excited, but the thought of walking 24 miles in just 12 hours is a bit daunting!”

“Of course, all of this is for a good cause, which carries you through. Dove House is close to all of us at Hull Trains. Raising money for a cause where we know the funds are helping the people of Hull is important to us all and really keeps you on track through the tougher parts of the challenge.”

Jethro Shearring, Senior Fundraiser at Dove House Hospice, said:

“Dove House Hospice offers a range of care across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire, including end-of-life care, respite care, and bereavement services. None of this care would be possible were it not for the generosity of our local community, it's incredible when the people we've supported then want to return the effort.”

“The additional support we get from fundraising, like what Hull Trains have embarked on last weekend, ensures that we can keep delivering this level of care to the local community. Hull Trains really have gone the extra mile for us, and we can't thank them and everyone that donated enough.”

People are still able to donate to the event via a JustGiving page here.
