Easter fun at the Leighton Buzzard Railway

Fun for all the family can be found at the this Easter as the heritage railway has plenty of egg-citing activities planned including:

  • Easter Express train ride
  • Easter Treasure Hunt
  • Easter Bonnet competition

The Easter fun will take place on Sunday the 9th and Monday the 10th of April and the first Easter Express of the day will leave at 10.30am and operate on the railways blue service to allow five journeys to take place on each day behind a stunning steam locomotive.

The train ride will take 65 minutes, including a 25-minute stop at the railways historic Stonehenge Works station which over Easter will become the home of the treasure hunt where finders get to keep any treats they discover. Stonehenge works will also see a limited number of Golden Tickets hidden and those lucky enough to find them can exchange the ticket for a boxed Easter Egg at – a maximum of 1 Golden Ticket per child may be redeemed.

The return journey to Pages Park will give families a chance to visit the railway's Engine Shed where the steam locomotives are stabled, enjoy some tasty treats at the Train Shed cafe or visit the railway's excellent gift shop.

2023 Will see the introduction of an Easter bonnet competition, families are encouraged to get creative to bring in their own homemade Easter Bonnets in order to enter and be in with winning a fabulous prize! Both adults and children can enter the competition – to take part simply ask one of the friendly booking office staff, leave an email address for contact and then get ready to pose for a picture!
