Bluey, Peppa Pig, and Chase and Marshall to visit Kent heritage railway in 2023

At the end of April, children's TV favourite character Bluey will be appearing at station on the in Kent.

On Saturday, 29th and Sunday, 30th April 2023, trains hauled by a full-size steam engine will operate from the Spa Valley Railway's West station to Groombridge where passengers can get off and meet Bluey, who will be appearing there at intervals throughout each day. Passengers should remember to bring their cameras as there will be a chance to catch a photo with Bluey.

At Groombridge, which is a delightful historic station, passengers can watch as the steam locomotive changes ends before taking everyone back to station. There will also be snacks, drinks and ice cream available to purchase from the kiosk at Groombridge station.

This weekend isn't the only chance to catch favourite TV characters at the Spa Valley Railway this year, as Peppa Pig will be putting in an appearance at Groombridge on Saturday, 27th, Sunday, 28th, and Monday, 29th May 2023.

The following weekend, Saturday, 3rd and Sunday, 4th June, characters Chase and Marshall will be at Groombridge station.

For all these events trains will only operate between Tunbridge Wells West and Groombridge, where there will be a 30-minute stopover while the engine changes ends so that it is at the front of the train for the return to Groombridge. On these weekends no trains will operate to or from Eridge, and all departures will be from Tunbridge Wells West.

Trains will depart from Tunbridge Wells West at 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, and 15:00, and arrive back at Tunbridge Wells West one hour later after a 30-minute stopover at Groombridge.

Train Fares for these events are:

  • Adults £13;
  • Seniors (60+) £12;
  • Child (2-15yrs) £6;
  • Family ticket (two adults and two children) £32.

On the day of the visit, passengers must have their eTickets available to show either in the form of a printout or on a mobile device, as both will be checked visually by a member of staff before boarding the train.
