Martin Moran, Greater Anglia's Commercial and Customer Services Director, said: “Travelling by train is cheaper than you think, and our new bargain Hare Fares mean people can travel for less.

“Our region has so much to offer and whether it's a trip to the city or coast, shopping or sightseeing, we're giving people more money to spend on having a great time by helping them save money on their train fare.

“Hare Fares can be purchased throughout half term too, so families can enjoy great days out. Greater Anglia has a range of great value fares and up to four children can travel for just £2 each way with any adult.”

Hare Fares can only be purchased as standard off-peak day return tickets and are exclusively available to be booked online at greateranglia.co.uk or using the Greater Anglia app only, where customers will be pleased to find they do not have to pay booking fees.

The special Hare Fares are not valid for travel completely in the Oyster zone. Standard refund applys.

Further to ‘Hare Fares', the rail operator also features an array of Advance fares which provide customers with some incredible savings of approximately 60% to 70% on standard walk-up prices. • “Costs more money”???? Last time I spent £5 on my specific return trip was 2009! Seriously good prices.

  • Still it costs more money to use Greater Anglia since rail prices have gone up. And with the strikes to continue in February, March and the rest of 2023 if more rail strikes have been announced.

  • There doesn’t seem to be any way to find the days/times when hare fares are still available (so you can get the fixed price return), you have to go through the normal process and then see if you get quoted a fare (so far, I haven’t found any £20 returns for London-Norwich and beyond, or any variants like Stratford to Norwich
