station is undergoing an overhaul with work now underway with completion set for 2023. The project will see the footbridge revamped with lifts added in order to support passengers with limited mobility, pushchairs, cycles or heavy luggage allowing them full access to Bridlington stations connections.

The project will see engineers creating a building base at the station over the next few weeks in order to prepare for the temporary footbridge which will be put in place at the start of December and will enable passengers to access the station's platforms whilst the work is ongoing.

The project has seen the majority of the £4.6m funding provided by the 's programme. A further £1.3m will also be invested and will see the station's roof renovated. The station also saw a £2.5m transformation of its entrance in 2019 as part of the town's ongoing renovation plans.
