Advance Tickets Make Travelling Home For Christmas A Cheaper And Greener Option

is encouraging passengers travelling this December to save money through Advance Tickets.

Road traffic in the lead up to Christmas can waste both time and fuel, making travelling by train a greener way to travel.

offers adult tickets as low as £5.50 on selected routes but prices are limited, so customers should book as soon as possible.

Advance Fares are available on more Govia Railway Routes, now that Thameslink is part of the offer.

Students traveling from Brighton to for the holiday can do so for £12.30 with a rail card, with a journey time of two hours.

With a rail network stretching over 11 counties, those travelling with GTR this winter can also take advantage of festive activities at destinations easily reachable by train. Choose from Christmas markets in Hertfordshire, to the pantomime production of Mother Goose at the Theatre Royal in Brighton. Family fun can be had at Tulleys Christmas Experience, or book tickets for the Anglesey Abbey Winter Lights experience to dazzle children and adults alike.

  • As with everything to do with rail, the continuing threat of more stikes colours everything, particularly Advanced Purchase ticket purchases. Why would you want to buy one with possibly more strikes likely in new year. Also, many operators cannot guarantee a 6 week headway period for booking, let alone the 12 weeks we normally have.
