Porterbrook named Transport Sector Leader in GRESB assessment

In the annual GRESB assessment, has secured itself a top score and has been named the Transport Sector Leader.

The result highlights the company's commitment to sustainability, with key initiatives including the development of the UK's first hydrogen-powered train .

They have also launched their battery-diesel hybrid vehicle into passenger service which majorly cuts down on CO2 emissions and reduces noise and air pollution.

GRESB assesses and benchmarks the ESG performance each year and provides insight for financial marks on sustainability topics.

Porterbrook was first in its peer group and scored a five star rating for the fourth year in a row.

Porterbrook CEO Mary Grant said: “To score 100% and be recognised as the Transport Sector Leader in the annual GRESB benchmark is a great achievement for Porterbrook. It's an endorsement of the hard work and dedication of our team to support the railway's journey towards net zero.
