National Railway Museum-owned LNER A3 No. 60103 Flying Scotsman is heading to London Kings Cross this October, allowing members of the public a chance to get see the locomotive fresh from its overhaul.
The public display will be at London Kings Cross on the 15th and 16th October.
Tickets for the event cost £7 per person (for both Adults and Children).
Marking the 170th Anniversary of the station, members of the public can buy a platform ticket to visit the locomotive on platform 8 and will have a chance to take a photo with the locomotive.
Ticket holders can:
- 10 minutes on the platform with Flying Scotsman
- Special souvenir ticket
- Drive Flying Scotsman virtually, which has been developed by Dovetail Games
- Flying Scotsman merchandise available to purchase
The NRM also says that a discount of £1 will apply when you book 3 or more tickets in one transaction.

Note: Tickets are extremely limited and are selling fast. At the time of writing there are still space left for both Saturday and Sunday.
Bloody Hell, you guys should have a look at how these things are done in Sydney Australia. Displayed trains are free to view on the platforms, train rides are charged along with merchandise.
Also supported by vintage buses and boats.
As for the trains they are supplied by invitation to a large number of heritage operators and museums.

Run by Transport Heritage NSW and supported by Howard Collins who previously worked in the UK railways.
We also had Streamliners 2022 on the same weekend showcasing the bulldog nosed locomotives in Goulburn NSW.
£7 seems far to expensive. As for 1960’s ration packs we could all do with a bit of belt tightening. Let’s get back to living not so extravagant and we will get through this lean time. Let’s help each other out folks !!!!!
So you can spend just 10 mins near Flying Scotsman for £7 each, including children. And then, presumably, you’ll be hussled to leave, after you’ve had the chance to PURCHASE Scotsman merchandise. Sounds a bit of a poor deal to me.
Tickets selling fast, eh? At that price, I very much doubt it.
