Alstom and Govia Thameslink Railway has signed a new services contract worth around £256m.
The Technical Support and Spares Supply Agreement will run for five years and five months to align with the operator's National Rail Contract.
This means that Alstom will continue to support the Class 377 and 387 trains in operation with Southern, Gatwick Express and Great Northern.
Together with Alstom's material supply facility in Brighton, teams at Battersea, Brighton, Hornsey and Selhurst will work together to maintain 1210 carriages to ensure the highest standards of train availability and reliability.
Steve Lammin, Engineering Director at GTR, said: “This contract renews our association with Alstom,
securing the continued support our excellent teams require to maintain our fleet.”
