Because of planned industrial action later this month, passengers intending to travel by London Northwestern Railway are being advised to check their journeys before they travel.
On Saturday, 13th, Thursday, 18th, and Saturday, 20th August, members of the ASLEF and RMT unions are staging strikes which will have a great impact on train services.
Saturday, 13th August;
London Northwestern Railway trains will not be running on any route due to action by members of the driver's union ASLEF. This will impact not only passengers wishing to travel with London Northwestern Railway but also its sister company, West Midlands Railway.
There may be a knock-on effect with disruption to some early morning services on Sunday, 14th August due to trains being in the incorrect place overnight.
On Thursday 18 August and Saturday 20 August:
Due to industrial action by members of the RMT union, there will only be a limited service will be in operation between 7.30 am and 6.30 pm.
As a result, on Friday, 19th August, there will be an amended timetable in operation. Also, on Sunday, 21st August early morning services may be disrupted due to trains being in the wrong places overnight.
The following route will have a limited service on Thursday, 18th and Saturday, 20th August from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm:
- Northampton to London Euston – two trains per hour;
- Birmingham to Northampton – one train per hour;
- Birmingham to Crewe – 1 train per hour;
No trains will run on any other London Northwestern Railway route, including London Euston to Crewe, Birmingham to Liverpool, St Albans Abbey to Watford Junction, and Bedford to Bletchley.

The rail industry has previously responded to RMT's strike action announcements
Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director at LNR, said:
“It is disappointing that our customers will continue to be impacted this month due to ongoing industrial action and I am urging passengers to check their journeys in advance.
“On Saturday 13 August we will not be able to run any services at all and we are advising passengers not to travel. Passengers holding tickets purchased in advance can travel on an alternative date or receive a full refund.”
Even Avanti West Coast are also to go on strike as well.
When will the rail unions stop putting us through this and the Government take urgent steps to stop this nonsense.
