The brand new ‘Seat Picker' facility is now available to use via the Trains website and gives customers the ability to choose where to sit and in which carriage when booking tickets online. The brand new feature can only be used by customers booking services using the Hull Trains website.

The new facility comes as research revealed that there was customer demand for selecting seating ahead of travelling, and came in as the number one request to Hull Trains when asked about website functionality as part of their bid to improve passenger experience.

David Gibson, Managing Director, said:

“We are a business that is always looking to improve our service offering and the best way to do that is by listening to what our customers say. Passengers have been asking us to introduce an online option to choose seats since we launched our new booking flow last year.”

“I am confident that Seat Picker will make booking journeys with us even more satisfying for customers, and we will continue to look at new ways of improving passenger experience.”

‘Seat Picker' allows customers to easily choose their seats in a way which will feel familiar to anyone who has booked seating on airline websites. Customers will have the option to select from table and aisle seating in all carriages as well as the choice of which direction the seat faces, the tool will also show which seats are already reserved by other people.

‘Seat Picker' can only be used for Hull Trains services and can be found using mobile or desktop at: http://www.hulltrains.co.uk

Hull Trains are extremely focused on its customers and also the local community and recently ran a public vote to name the fifth and final train in its Paragon fleet and saw a fantastic response with over 2,500 votes.

  • Hull Trains finally playing catchup with the likes of LNER, Cross Country Trains, and Avanti West Coast. Even Train Split allow manual seat selection. We Hull Trains passengers have been banging on about this for years. Finally, and better late than never, we are seeing our demands met.
