To help tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB), British Transport Police joined a national campaign to keep staff and passengers safe when using the railway.
Aiming to encourage communities to take a stand against anti-social behaviour, ASB Awareness Week 2022 highlighted the actions that can be taken by those experiencing ASB.
Running from July 18 to 22, ASB Awareness Week 2022 encouraged communities to take a stand against ASB and highlight the actions that can be taken by those experiencing it.
The campaign, was organised by Resolve who are the UK's leading anti-social behaviour organisation.
A series of events ran all across the UK involving police forces, councils, housing associations, charities, community groups and sports clubs.
British Transport Police encourage anyone who is a victim or witness to crime to report it by texting 61016 or in an emergency call 999.
T/Superintendent David Rams, the ASB portfolio lead for BTP said: “Anti-social behaviour is one of the more common types of crime experienced on the railway. This can involve situations that make a person feel threatened, such as drunkenness or aggressive shouting while travelling by train or waiting on a platform.
“Our message is that no one has to put up with anti-social behaviour. Everyone has the right to travel in peace and safety, and we encourage anyone who experiences anything that threatens this to report it by texting BTP on 61016.”
I had my phone broken on a train last year and I lost 3 weeks worth of footage and the BTP never found the bloke!
