New date for Class 40 locomotive on The Dalesman between York and Carlisle

has released an update on its planned trips with Class 40 No. 40145 (D345).

The locomotive was due to haul The Dalesman tomorrow (23rd June), however, due to the RMT strike action affecting TOCs and signallers, this trip has been postponed until the 28th June.

Unfortunately, the 28th June trip will not feature D345.

To replace the cancelled trip, West Coast Railways has announced that D345 will operate The Dalesman on the 14th July, which will take passengers from to .

As previously announced, D345 will also operate the 5th July Dalesman.

  • The venerable and historic 40 145 locomotive belongs to the Class 40 Preservation Society (CFPS), and is on short-term hire to West Coast Railways.
