Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd of May will see Blist Hill Victorian Town host its well-loved Steam Weekend
The event will take place at the Shropshire based attraction and will delight steam fans of all ages over the weekend of the 21st and 22nd of May. Fans of history will also enjoy seeing first hand how Victorians utilised the power of steam for their engines and machinery with the event offering a unique opportunity to get up close to a selection of steam-powered vehicles.
Visitors will be able to witness an array of machines in the world they first inhabited such as a selection of visiting engines in differing shapes and sizes including those built by Trotter, Foster, Fowler and Aveling and Porter.
Attendees can also visit Blists Hill Victorian Town's Madeley Wood Company Outdoor Adventure which is an exciting family attraction which includes fun activities such as ziplines and slides alongside structures to climb and explore.

“We're excited to welcome visitors young and old to Blists Hill Victorian Town this weekend for our popular Steam event. Being able to showcase these engines, which played such an important role in the Industrial Revolution, is the just one of the ways that the Trust engages visitors with the world-changing story of Ironbridge.
“As the weather gets warmer, we're also delighted that visitors will be able to make use of our amazing Outdoor Adventure, which has proven to be such a popular part of the overall Blists Hill experience since it opened last summer. It's something which really lets children have hands-on fun while learning about the site's rich mining history.
“These kinds of events and the incredible facilities we have on site are so important for future generations to appreciate the area's heritage, as well as enjoy the natural surroundings.”
One of the regions most popular tourist attractions, The Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust is located at the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and features 10 museums along the Gorge. The Trust also has the royal seal of approval via its Patron, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, who has maintained his role since 1979.
The Ironbridge Gorge has been a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986 and up to date has seen around 16 million tourists visit the Ironbridge Gorge Museums.
