The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) is offering passengers the opportunity to charter its opulent Great Western Saloon carriage, which provides a unique setting for a memorable celebration or event for up to 18 people.
The Great Western Saloon carriage is ideal for both business and personal events, from corporate entertaining, networking events, and team away days, to birthdays, anniversaries, or retirement parties. It is available for hire on a Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday lunchtime from now until October.
Built in 1948, the carriage has two luxurious seating areas with fine furnishings and observation windows, where guests can admire fantastic views of the North Yorkshire Moors has to offer. It will be hauled by a historic steam locomotive to complete the scene.
As the NYMR is a registered charity, all profits generated from chartering the carriage will be reinvested into preserving and caring for the railway for future generations to enjoy.
With the ultimate way to travel, the charter experience includes:
- an exclusive return journey from Grosmont to Pickering on board the Great Western Saloon;
- a signalman's Buffet Lunch for 18 guests, which includes smoked salmon, cold meat platters, quiche, and a selection of cheeses and desserts;
- services of a dedicated member of staff to look after the group and assist with catering for the entire journey;
- pre-ordered drinks from NYMR's drinks menu, although these are priced in addition to the hire fare.
Unfortunately, children under the age of 5 cannot be booked on the charters.
