The East Lancashire Railway is giving all Elizabeth's the chance to ride for free in the lead up to their royal ‘choo-choo-bilee' celebrations.

For those lucky enough to share their name with the longest ever reigning monarch, here is an amazing opportunity from ELR to ride for free right along their line.

From Friday the 27th of May until Thursday the 2nd of June, people named Elizabeth (first or middle name) can ride on any standard services free of charge (excludes dining trains and event tickets) and giving them the chance to enjoy some hidden gems on the Irwell Valley including pubs, restaurants and much more.

To take part in this amazing offer, visit the ELR ticket office in person as this offer is not available online or over the phone, and present an official ID such as a UK passport, driving license or birth certificate in order to receive a complimentary day rover ticket.

The Jubilee Weekend will see ELR host a celebration of the Platinum Jubilee, including a special Jubilee bash from Friday the 3rd to Sunday the 5th of June and will include special performances from the era at each station over the long weekend.

Every station across the line will be celebrating in the 1940s/50s fashion with food, vintage stall and music from the Washboard Resonators, the Rum and Cola Girls, Kitty LaMare and the George Formby Appreciation Society.

ELR wants to encourage guests to take part and dress for the era. Visitors will also get the opportunity to see once in a lifetime flyovers from classic Spitfire and Hurricanes alongside a special commemorative Jubilee speech by Mrs Sharman Birtles MBE JP DL, Vice Lord-Lieutenant.
