New deals for group bookings launched by TransPennine Express

(TPE) gives group bookings 20% discount as part of their new way for booking group travel

People booking travel for groups of 10 or more can now book online in one single step making life so much easier for those organising travel for groups.

TPE now have a dedicated booking team who are available to answer questions and make all of the necessary arrangements such as making sure that group members are seated together.

As part of the new facility, TPE is giving parties of 10+ a generous 20% off of the price on Advance Purchase tickets when travelling together on the same train.

The 20% discount is available for both First and Standard Class Advance Purchase tickets and can be used for travel on any TPE service, subject to availability and excluding dates affected by the current RMT strike action.

Darren Higgins, Commercial Director for TransPennine Express said: “We are thrilled to have brought in these changes to our booking system, along with discounted travel for groups of 10 or more, making it even easier for larger parties to use our trains.

“Our network connects towns and cities right across the North and into Scotland, and we want to do all we can to provide a real alternative to travelling by road, encouraging those including larger groups to take the train and travel in a more sustainable way.”

TPE is also on course to cut their carbon emissions by 30% per vehicle kilometre as soon as April 2023 with its Nova train fleet which features bi-mode and electric trains which will help reduce customers CO2 emissions by 77% when compared to travelling in a regular car.

  • The Terms and Conditions do not make it clear if delay/repay is available, as it with other tickets (in accordance with National Conditions of Travel)
