Tuesday the 19th of April 2022 saw the impressive locomotive fully decked out in the Group's centenary year livery as part of the 100-year celebrations.

Starting out as a family-owned business back in 1920, the Malcolm Group is now one of the main providers of Logistics, Construction and Maintenance services throughout the UK with 2022 seeing the Group celebrate their centenary.

A division of the Malcolm Group, Malcolm Rail celebrated 20 years in rail freight in 2021 and is currently operating daily services, 364 days a year, moving more than 30,000 containers for a broad range of retailers and manufacturers.

The locomotive 90021 has been dedicated to Donald Malcolm who the company owes its success to following its inception and due to his hard work and sharp business mindset.

Andrew Malcolm, CEO of the Malcolm Group, comments:

“I was delighted to continue our centenary year celebrations by launching our new liveried train, dedicated to my Father, Donald. I am equally proud to be looking forward to our next 100 years as I am reflecting on the last 100. This is a year for acknowledging our achievements and looking forward.”

Roger Neary, Chief Commercial Officer at DB Cargo UK said:

“We are proud to recognise and celebrate the centenary of the Malcolm Group, in particular the newly liveried class 90 locomotive in honour of Donald Malcolm.
