The show will take place in the engine shed at Leeming Bar, which is normally out of bounds to the public. A range of layouts will be on display, from n gauge to G scale. These will be displayed alongside standard gauge locomotives, including the newly repainted ex-Tyne Wear loco WL 4 and a partly rebuilt steam locomotive.
Across the station site, there will also be plenty to do. In the car park, there will be a traction engine in steam, which will be on display alongside a 5¼ inch-gauge steam railway which will provide rides along 145 feet of track specially set up. Visitors will also have the opportunity to drive a Class 03 0-6-0 diesel locomotive for just £10.
Throughout the weekend, trains will operate between Scruton and Leyburn, and day rovers will be available for those wishing to make multiple trips along the line.
At Scruton, visitors can step back in time and experience the award-winning station. An added attraction at Scruton station will be birds of prey from the York Birds of Prey Centre, who will be based at the station over the three-day weekend.
On Monday, 2nd May at Leeming Bar, the restored Station House will be officially opened. Music and events will take place both within the station house and on the platform throughout the day. Tours of the station house and children's activities will also be available.
The event will be open each day between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm. Tickets are available to purchase on the website at http://www.wensleydale-railway.co.uk or on the day. Show tickets can be purchased separately or combined show and train tickets are available.
