Thomas fans can also get the chance to say hello to Sir Topham Hatt before starting their adventure from Bury to the delightful station.

Off of the train, the fun will continue with live entertainment taking place right through the day including sing-a-longs with Sodor's cheeky station sweepers Rusty and Dusty, arts and crafts and an Imagination Station where kids can enjoy playing with their favourite Thomas & Friends toys and books.

The events will run on the 30th of April, the 1st and 2nd of May, the 6th and 7th of August and the 1st and 2nd of October with tickets now on sale.

Why not continue the fun over the road at Bury Transport Museum where tickets for the Thomas event will provide access to enjoy funfair rides, magicians, balloon modelling and face painting.

Lorna Massey, Sales & Events Manager at ELR, commented:

“We are delighted to welcome back Thomas the Tank Engine to the ELR's tracks over a number of weekends from April to October.

“As one of our most popular experiences, the Day Out With Thomas events are a key fixture on the ELR's calendar.

“Thomas is a much-loved childhood character for people of all generations, so the event always brings as much joy to children as it does to parents and grandparents.

“As well as taking a trip through Lancashire on Thomas, visitors will also meet Sodor's Rusty and Dusty and Sir Topham Hatt and enjoy a host of activities offboard, so the experience will be a fun day out for all the family.”
