Greater Anglia staff organise Easter egg appeal for sick children

Staff at have launched an appeal for Easter eggs to provide extra treats for sick children spending Easter in hospital.

Drop-off points are available at Bishop's Stortford, , , , and railway stations where passengers and other members of the public can donate their children's treats. Donations will be handed over to the paediatric ward at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.

For the third year running, Greater Anglia relief ticket office clerk, Michael King, who is based at Harlow Town Station, has organised the collections. Two years ago, Greater Anglia staff collected Easter eggs, but because of the Covid-19 pandemic they were diverted to local food banks.

Michael, said: “We would like to thank our very generous customers who have been donating treats to support the Easter egg appeal.

“We care about the local areas we serve and wanted to do something to bring a bit of cheer to children who are in hospital over Easter.”

Easter eggs can be dropped off at any station between Stansted Airport and Harlow Town until Sunday, 10th April, and will be delivered to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow on Tuesday, 12th or Wednesday, 13th April.
