All trains to and from London Euston, London Marylebone and London Kings Cross have been suspended by Network Rail due to Storm Eunice.
All lines are affected between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central, London Kings Cross and Stevenage and the Chiltern network until further notice.
Do Not Travel is the message as the network is battered by gale force winds.
These closures are affecting LNER, Great Northern, Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway, Lumo, Grand Central and Chiltern Railways
James Dean, Network Rail's West Coast South route director, said: “Hundreds of engineers are out in horrendous conditions trying to maintain and protect the railway from the onslaught of this major storm. Because of Storm Eunice's severity we've had no choice but to close some routes as it's too unsafe to run trains. I'd like to thank people for following our advice by not travelling today while we work flat out to clear fallen trees and repair overhead electric lines.”
South Western Railway, Transport for Wales and c2c have also suspended services until further notice.
We really have to get a grip back on life in this Country. Closing down the railways is absolutely pathetic!!!
My Dad tried to book a ticket to go on Lumo from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley next week for a funeral. But instead we opted for LNER instead which is a real shame. 🙁

Overhead line failures are probably unavoidable; rubbish blown from properties next to the railway ditto. But trees are a problem that’s firmly in NR’s court and one that it’s failed to manage effectively for its entire existence. Engineering organisations have been warning for 25 years about the consequences of global warming on critical infrastructure through more extreme weather events, nut NR has been sleeping on the job, allowing drains to become clogged, structures weakened by vegetation growth and decay, and trees to proliferate to the point that a train ride is like a journey through the Wild Wood these days.
Get the chainsaws out BEFORE the trees fall down.
