Lumo Managing Director Helen Wylde steps down from role

's Managing Director, Helen Wylde, has stepped down from the role with immediate effect.

First Group, Lumo's parent company, says Helen has decided to take up a position outside of the rail industry.

Helen joined First Rail in March 2020 to lead the start of the new open access operator on the East Coast. Lumo commenced passenger services back in October.

First Rail's Commercial Projects Director, Phil Cameron, will now act as Interim Managing Director after working with Lumo throughout the startup period to ensure continuity whilst a new MD is found.

Commenting, Andy Mellors, First Rail Managing Director Non-Franchised Businesses said: “Having led the mobilisation through the challenges presented by the pandemic over the last two years, Helen leaves Lumo with its 100% electric, affordable and innovative service proposition firmly established. I would like to thank Helen and wish her well in the future.”

  • And Lumo has no option to stop at other stations including York. Whilst LNER and Grand Central serves York.
