Hull Trains are to reinstate services that were withdrawn from their December timetable because of COVID and reduced demand.
The services are being reintroduced earlier than had been expected following the announcement last week that Government has relaxed COVID restrictions.
A reduced timetable came into effect on December 27th as customer demand changed due to COVID-19 and concerns over a possible future lockdown.
At the time, the country was impacted by the significantly more-infectious Omicron variant, which caused uncertainty and a significant fall in passenger numbers.
Hull Trains introduced the reduced timetable less than two weeks after it had introduced its 94th service, which was the highest service level ever offered in the company's history and reflected an increasing demand for services, as demand was rising steadily in early December.
The temporary timetable will end on 12th February, but on weekdays from 7th February, the 17.08 Hull to London Kings Cross and 20.30 London Kings Cross to Hull will be reinstated to the company's passenger timetable with tickets available for sale earlier than planned.
Until the full timetable is reinstated on 13th February, tickets for withdrawn services will be valid on all other Hull Trains services on the same day as stated on the ticket. Coach A is unreserved seating, but the company recommends making a new seat reservation.

We can already see that demand has started to return with sales increasing and the numbers of reservations being made on the rise. We will continue to monitor sales and revenue every day and will reinstate all other withdrawn services at the earliest opportunity.”
