The Spa Valley Railway has announced a visiting guest for their upcoming Winter Steam Up special event taking place on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of January 2022.
With thanks to the East Lancashire Railway and Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Trust for agreeing to the hire period, Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway 0-6-0 Class 23 No.752 will be taking part in Winter Steam Up on the Spa Valley Railway.
Appearing in British Railways' Unlined Black livery numbered No.51456, the tank will be the oldest running engine being built in 1881 by Beyer Peacock!
Converted to a 0-6-0 tank engine in 1896, No.752 spent majority of it's working on Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway's network, even when absorbed into the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS).
