Scottish students are set to save as dishes out a whopping 50% discount on train tickets throughout Scotlands Railway this

Both college and university students can take part in the half-price travel offer on any off-peak ScotRail service from Friday the 10th of December right through to Christmas eve on Friday the 24th of December.

The offer can be used on all singles, returns and open returns with students making savings on their travel during the lead-up to Christmas.

To take part in the offer students need to bring a valid ID to a staffed ticket office to enable them to buy their half-price ticket.

Students who buy off-peak open return tickets can also benefit from the offer into January too as the return portion of their ticket remains valid up to one month after purchase, so if a student purchased an off-peak return ticket on Christmas Eve, they could use the return ticket right up to the 23rd of January which is a great way to making savings on journeys such as returning back to university in January.

“Christmas can be tough for everyone – and for students it's no different. It can be hard going to try keep up with studies, balance finances, and make time to see friends and family.

“We think this half price deal on tickets is the best gift we can give them before Christmas and we're sure it will be very popular amongst students, whether they're heading into town with friends or making the journey home to see loved ones at this special time of year.”
