The buffet at station reopened last week after undergoing a major refurbishment.

Housed in a disused signal box at Parkway station, the buffet has, for a number of years, been under the management of the heritage steam railway, Bodmin & Wenford Railway, which shares the station with the GWR who operates Bodmin Parkway.

It was originally closed in early 2020 due to Covid, and remained closed whilst it underwent a major refurbishment. It reopened on 19 November after conversion into a Coffee Shop and now trades under the name of the Cornish Rail Coffee Co., bringing it into line with the coffee shop at Bodmin General.

The buffet has been given a thorough make over, giving it a fresh, new feel. The new layout means that more people will be able to sit at the windows whilst they wait for their train. A variety of hot and cold drinks are available, along with a selection of sandwiches, cakes, and snacks. Passengers due to travel on main line trains will also be able to purchase these before they board the train, as will local walkers. It is open Monday to Saturday, 07:30 to 14:30.

The Coffee Shop is on the down platform, which is where trains from Plymouth stop. Unfortunately, the Coffee Shop is accessed by stairs from the platform, and there is no provision for wheelchair users. However, for those people unable to access the buffet, there is a button to call for assistance.

Bodmin Parkway is the connection to the Bodmin & Wenford Railway, which runs via Bodmin General in Bodmin town centre to Boscarne Junction at the start of the Camel Trail. Bodmin & Wenford Railway trains operate from Platform 3 adjacent to the platform used by London-bound trains.
