The has announced that GWR Manor No. 7812 Erlestoke Manor has had its safety valves lifted for the first time since 2017.

Erlestoke Manor was withdrawn from service after its boiler ticket expired in January 2018 and was transferred to Tyseley Locomotive Works for an overhaul,.

Fast forward to October 2021 and the boiler inspector confirmed he was satisfied with the out of the frames test.

Now this test is complete, the boiler will be lagged, clad and finally lifted back into the frames.

This will then allow the final stages of the overhaul to be completed.

7812 Erlestoke Manor is usually based at the Severn Valley Railway, in Kidderminster, with Tyseley Locomotive Works undertaking the contracted overhaul.

With both 7812 Erlestoke Manor and 7802 Bradley Manor both out of service undergoing maintenance, repairs and overhaul, the Erlestoke Manor Fund need donations to help get both locomotives back in service.

Please visit the Erlestoke Manor Fund website to donate towards the project if you can.
