For runners taking part in the London Marathon this weekend, train operator are offering free travel on their trains.

If you are taking part in the marathon, all you need to do is to show your runner's number or your finisher's medal at the station and c2c staff will let you travel for free on their trains.

c2c have also reminded passengers about planned engineering work taking place on the Rainham line the weekend. Rail replacement buses will be in operation between Upminster and Grays via Rainham. They have also said that all services will be running to and from Fenchurch Street railway station with no train to Liverpool Street.

Work is also taking place on the London Underground, and passengers should check the TfL website for more details

A guide to the London Marathon has been produced and is available here. Runners have been asked to only invite one support to watch in person to reduce the numbers attending the event.

  • c2c is the best train operator. But apparently there are some people who use c2c have put their feet up on the seats and other disgusting things whilst on c2c trains. And I think that c2c needs to sort it out.
