Lumo – the new name for First Group’s London to Edinburgh rail operator

has unveiled the new name for its all-electric rail service between London and Edinburgh

Called , the new operator will offer fares for as little as £14.90 in a bid to encourage more environmentally-friendly travel between the two capital cities.

What's more, 60% of all single fares will cost £30 or less.

Lumo will start on the 25th of October using Hitachi Class 803 trains with a frequency increasing over time to a maximum of ten services a day by early 2022.

Lumo Trains will operate over the East Coast Main Line and will call at Edinburgh, Newcastle, Morpeth and Stevenage, and London King's Cross.

Also launching is LumoEats, a new at-seat catering service from high street brands, as well as free WiFi, paperless tickets, and a new entertainment system.
