Saturday footfall returns to pre-COVID levels at Leeds railway station

Today, (Saturday 14th August) Network Railway are holding an event at railway station to celebrate the fact that Saturday footfall figures have returned to pre-covid levels.

Following the lifting of restrictions, passengers have returned to train travel with footfall at the station increasing by 15% since the 17th July.

The event at the station will celebrate the returning of passengers as they reconnect with family and friends.

DJ @missdjcandy will be on the main concourse entertaining those passing through the station and free product samples will be given out by retailers on the station.

A social media competition is also running, with a chance to win a hamper, with passengers being encouraged to take a photo of the event and post it on twitter tagging @networkraillds and using #BackInLeedsStation.

Nick Cooper, 's Station Manager at Leeds station, said: “It's wonderful to see footfall returning to pre-COVID levels and we look forward to celebrating the return of passengers to Leeds station with our event this Saturday.

“We want to create a feel-good atmosphere and remind passengers that our station team is here to help everyone travel with confidence.”
