The level crossing at has reopened after completed work to improve sight for pedestrians who cross the railway.

Network Rail closed the crossing temporarily due to concerns that crossing users didn't have enough warning of oncoming trains to all them to cross safely.

Work between the 9th and 13th August saw the removal of trees, which were affected by ash dieback, that were next to the railway.

The trees were blocking the view for pedestrians and meant they didn't have much warning of trains running on the line between Keighley and Skipton.

The crossing work has been completed, and the crossing reopened on Friday 13th August.

Olly Glover, Head of Safety in the North & East for Network Rail, said: “This work means that we can open up the crossing for public use straight away.

“The safety of the level crossing users must always be our main priority. I'd like to thank local people, along with the parish council, for their continued support and patience throughout this period.”
